Karen A Foster is proud to be endorsed by the Metrowest Daily News and the Natick Tab and Bulletin! Dear Natick neighbor, Educating kids has never been more important – for the future of our town, our country, and our families. It won’t be easy for Natick’s schools to keep making headway during this downturn, but we ’ll do it – if we work together. My name is Karen Adelman Foster, and I’m running for re-election to the Natick School Committee. There is now a write-in candidate running against me and my colleague Dave Margil for the two three-year seats. This write-in candidate is endorsed by Natick Forever (formerly Redmen Forever). The only names that will appear on the ballot are Karen A. Foster and David Margil (whom I strongly endorse), but this does not assure our election against a write-in. You have two votes for the three-year seats. Please vote for both Karen A. Foster and Dave Margil. To survive the crisis and emerge stronger, we’ll need leaders who listen. Leaders who don’t settle for what’s quick and obvious and popular, but move decisively to do what makes long-term sense. Over the years, you’ve seen me be just that kind of leader. You’ve seen me tackle hard questions and make tough calls. You’ve seen me speak up for greater academic rigor, better communication, and for really listening to different points of view. You’ve seen me stand up for what is best for the schools, even in the face of opposition. And you’ve seen me push, always, for the responsible use of your money. Working together, we’ll do what needs to be done. Yes, there will be cuts, and they'll hurt. But we’ll educate Natick’s kids – and do it well – for less. We’ll complete the high-school building project. We’ll move forward, together, as a school system and community. Let me know if I can answer any questions or address any concerns. I thank you for your vote and for caring about our great town. Yours truly, Karen |
What's with the two- and three-year seats? The School Committee is a seven-member townwide board. Its members are elected in staggered, three-year terms. I am running for re-election to one of the two three-year seats open in the regular rotation. Voters have two votes each for these two seats, and there are two candidates on the ballot. However there is also a last-minute write-in candidate from Natick Forever (formerly Redmen Forever). Please vote for both Karen A Foster and David Margil! There is a completely separate race to fill the remaining two years of a the term of a member who vacated his seat.
